About Summittmills

           Summittmills stated in the imagination of Karen Summitt-Beaver, in 2006, while she was in the mist of getting hooked on the art of quilting. Karen started quilting on her 50th birthday with a group of friends at a retreat in Lindale, Texas.

             Karen has always had an artist bug in her, painting and drawing through out her life. The first Quilt Guild Karen belong to was Lone Star Quilt Guild in, Texas and held the position of Secretary.  Currently she belongs to the Wise County Quilt Guild in Bridgeport, Texas.  If you would like more information on the WC Quilt Guild, Contact us via the links below:

             Karen’s First contest entered was in  the Robert Kaufman Quilt Quest for 2007 and her quilt was chosen to be in the traveling show until November 2008. the Quilt was called Butterfly in Flight

This is a picture of it as it hung in the Houston International Quilt Show, in Houston,  Texas November 2007.

Another one of Karen’s quilt she did as a round robin with Anne Marie Jennings of Flower Mound, Texas is currently  traveling the USA in the 2008 Hoffman of California Quilt Challenge.
